Jamie Stern, Ph.D. candidate in Chris Berger’s Lab, won the 2017 Norman R. Alpert Research Prize

Jamie‘s paper “Phospho-regulation of Tau Modulates Inhibition of Kinesin-1 Motility”, on which she is the first author, was published in Molecular Biology of the Cell (28(8):1079-1087, April 15, 2017; PMC5391184) this spring.  The quality and potential impact of this work was recognized by the editors of MBoC, who selected it as a Highlighted Paper for the month of April and a finalist for the MBoC paper of the year.  The Alpert Research prize is awarded annually for the best peer-reviewed research article by a graduate student in the Cellular, Molecular and Biosciences (CMB) Program at the University of Vermont.  The prize was awarded at the Annual CMB Retreat on Th. Aug. 24, 2017.
