Michael Radermacher contributes to success of one of the recipients of the 2017 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

The Nobel Prize Committee just announced the 2017 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.   One of the recipients is Joachim Frank, who revolutionized cryo-electron microscopy and protein structure determination through significant developments in image processing.

Michael Radermacher was part of the team that developed the novel approach to processing and combining images to reveal high resolution structures, most notably the ribosome.

Congratulations to Michael for his contributions to Joachim’s success and Nobel Prize.  It must feel good to have rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous!
