Jason receives Rising Star New Investigator Award
Jason received the Rising Star New Investigator Award at the first annual Dean’s Excellence in Research Celebration. While Jason was honored to receive the award, it really recognizes the outstanding research accomplishments of the entire lab.
Stumpff Lab awarded Susan G. Komen grant
Jason received a Career Catalyst Research Award from Susan G. Komen to investigate new molecular targets for triple negative breast cancer. This project is part of an ongoing collaboration with Alan Howe and Chris Anker. The interdisciplinary research team also includes two patient advocates, Carol Vallett and Marion Thurnauer, as well as several members of the UVM Cancer Center (Gary Stein, Jane Lian, Marie Wood, and George Atweh). Heidi and Jason present at the Muscle and Molecular Motors GRC
The 2016 Muscle and Molecular Motors Gordon Research Conference (GRC) was held at Mount Snow, VT. Heidi presented a poster describing her investigations of Kif18A’s targeting to kinetochore-microtubule ends. Jason gave both a poster and a talk on Haein Kim’s work, which is focused on determining Kif18A’s role in stabilizing kinetochore-microtubule attachments. Great work Heidi and Haein!

Lisa Wood receives SURF Award to investigate TNBC
Lisa Wood, an MMG undergraduate student, has received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from UVM to investigate new approaches for inhibiting the growth and movement of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. Congratulations Lisa!
